Current Location: Two bedroom condo in London, with her three cats.
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual; but that’s not openly known to everyone, only people who pay attention to her romantic life or family and friends. Anne has had two significant (and quiet) relationships with women and only a few more with men, but nothing in the last few years. Already a private person, she’s not very forthcoming with information regarding her sexuality and is not generally open to talking about it either way unless she’s friends with you, but she is equally attracted to men and women.

GAME INVOLVEMENT

Current Job: With Anne unable to return to her Hitwizard team, she was offered a few alternatives, and settled into the Public Awareness Team. She spends her days monitoring letters and packages going through Owl postal services.
DMLE - Hitwizard in Training || 1963 - 1965
DMLE - Hitwizard - Vice; Team C || 1965 - 1973
DMLE - HItwizard - Homicide; Team C || 1973 - 1977
DMLE - Public Awareness Team: Owl Monitoring. || 1979 - CURRENT

Political Group: Wrackspurt Party; but has been known to lean the Gillyweed way over the years.

Political Knowledge: Anne is not currently aware of any members of the Order of the Phoenix or the Death Eaters, other than the ones that have been publicly outed, killed or imprisoned.

Skills: Neither a member of the Order of the Phoenix or the Death Eaters, but Anne is still well trained, as one would expect from a former Hit Wizard. Unfortunately her injury puts her at a disadvantage, but she’s been going through rehabilitation to get back to her former peak of fitness. She’s never going to be back at the physical level she was before, but that hasn’t stopped her from retaining her level of spell-work mastery; defensive magic was always her forte, shields and protective barriers. She’s good with people, cool-headed and always thinks first, great under bad situations and known for her dry humour. She’s good back-up and someone you’d want at your back when in the field.

Politics: Anne has absolutely no issues with muggles or muggleborns. She does not agree with You-Know-Who, his policies, the Death Eaters or Purist beliefs. But that’s not to say she does agree that Vigilantes like the Order of the Phoenix should be trying to fight back. Anne believes in the Ministry, in government, in doing things By The Book. She believes in law and order, in Hitwizards and Aurors.

Past War Involvement:
14 FEBRUARY 1974: Anne’s brother, Colin, was among those killed on Bloody Valentine’s Day. Colin’s long-time girlfriend, also in attendance, was severely injured.

Other than specific instances, Anne spent a great deal of her time between 1973-1977 tracking down unidentified werewolves, vampires and other dark creatures.

War Effort: Currently looking into joining the Civil Air Patrol - in game. Not currently a member and hasn’t passed the test yet.

DETAILS

20 Word Sentence Describing Your Character: Anne is a level-headed, pragmatic former Hitwizard that now spends her days up to her elbows in owl droppings.

Personal History:
Anne was born into an already busy and loud family, she was the baby. The fifth (and last) child, and often carted around by her younger siblings, Anne had a good childhood. Her parents were hardworking folk, farmers, and they did their level best to make sure their kids had what they needed growing up. Anne was never bitter that Christmas wasn’t as fluffy as some kids had. She was always the hardworking, down to earth sort, even as a child. She helped on the farm as soon as she was old enough, and eventually she was the only one left that wasn’t off to Hogwarts.

When it was Anne’s own time to go off to school, her oldest brother was already a few years out of schooling and the sibling closest to her in age - Colin - was years ahead of her and in another house. When it came to family in Hogwarts, Anne felt fairly alone, but it was still better than the last few years before she had started schooling.

She made friends easily, melted into the Hufflepuff mindset and enjoyed her years in school. She was a bit of a nuisance to Colin, but involved herself in several clubs and later joined the Quidditch team. Growing up on the farm and following after her brothers had helped mold her into quite the tomboy. With something exciting to look forward to on a regular basis, school flew by. Before she knew it, N.E.W.T.s were upon her, and so was the choice of what to do with the rest of her life. She made good scores and went back to help her parents on the home front.

Being the only child left that hadn’t flown the nest, there was a lot to keep Anne busy the month it took her to weigh her options. Jack was well on his way to being a top barrister, and the whole family was full of people that could make a change in the environment, the government, the Wizarding World as a whole...

Ultimately, Anne chose the same path, and ended up applying for Hitwizard training. She was one of the “elite” few that made it that year, and the next two years were full of grueling training. She had no time for a real personal life, and still lived at home. Her days were filled with learning hand-to-hand combat, interrogation, dueling work and other skills needed for her future life. This really left no time for a personal life at all, and it only calmed down to a certain degree when her training was finished and she joined Vice.

Vice was.. good for her. She fit in well, was a good copper and was almost always the first person they went to for finding out information. She got along well with others and had a way about her that coaxed people into talking to her.

In her personal life, she was finally able to move out of her parents home and into a little studio flat. She was even able to maintain a few romantic relationships, none of which panned out because work always came first. Long hours, late nights, having to leave at a moment’s notice, cancelled dates... It was all a bit much, for anyone involved with her. Her job was her life and her life became... well, more of a hobby.

Until the whisperings of the war, her life continued on as usual. Not much sleep, a few dates here and there (and the look on her parent’s faces when she brought home a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend, once? Priceless.) and a full schedule of citations and probation hearings and learning the ropes while still being wet behind the ears.

When the war broke out in full force, things got a little more interesting. The 70’s brought the era of Dark Army attacks and the rise of You-Know-Who. Not being an Auror, she was only involved to a certain degree. Crime in other areas was still there, and the hitwizards maintained order in the government and amongst the people.

Early 1973 and their family received a huge blow. Her brother - the next oldest and one she had always been closest to - Colin, was killed on Bloody Valentine’s Day. The family had remained primarily untouched by the war until this moment, and even being in the direct line of fire, Anne was shaken.

The following week, Anne applied to join Homicide.

Because she wanted to be more actively involved in the efforts to stop the Dark Army, because it was more personal... she never really told anyone why. But things were tense in homicide. Dealing with werewolves, vampires and other creatures, along with normal murders and foul play.. There was no time for anything other than work. To be good, you had to sacrifice a lot, and Anne did that.

They spent a lot of time on the streets and visiting registered vampires and werewolves, and a lot of good people were injured or killed in the months leading up to the Ministry’s change of classifying them as “beasts” rather than “beings”. They seemed to make a little progress (early alarm systems!) but always got pushed back later by Greyback and his pack. Investigations continued, and each day she grew increasingly more emotional over the children involved.

Time passed, but it didn’t get any easier and life certainly didn’t slow down. But things did have a big change in 1977, when Anne suffered an injury that almost left her for dead and definitely out of a job. Routine interviews, scouting out locations for vampires and Greyback’s pack and Anne and her teammate had a run-in with a member of the Dark Army. An older vampire, hiding in muggle London, and within a second he had her thrown against a wall and was on the run.

Anne lived, but her spinal cord was broken in several places, she had a broken hip and a punctured lung. If it hadn’t been for a quick response from a team of Medi-Wizards, she would have died fairly quickly.

But even then, recovering at St. Mungo’s was no picnic. She still didn’t remember most of it, but there were a lot of potions and a lot of time sedated. She was paralyzed for weeks, before they were able to repair her spine fully. Months of rehabilitation, physical therapists, occupational therapists, potions, social workers, paperwork.. That became her life.

Eventually she was able to get into a routine where things moved a little more smoothly. She walked with a cane for a while, but with proper therapy, things healed and eventually it was almost like she was never injured. But she wasn’t able to return to peak performance, and the DMLE put her on pension and told her to take some time.

So she did. A year of time, before she was finally given another offer to go back to the DMLE - but it wouldn’t be as a Hitwizard. When the Terrorist act opened up the Public Awareness Team, Anne was offered a spot locating hidden messages, and was able to put her skills from the DMLE to good use. It did end up being a good thing for her. She was given a second chance to relive the 20’s that she never really had, or never really chose to have.

First Person:
[Warded to the Public Awareness Team:]
You know, sometimes I’m glad I’m owls and not on the journals, and sometimes I’m a little jealous of the living soap opera that Henry gets to monitor. Sure, I get to decode love letters and find out that someone can’t make it for a New Years party, but he gets the juicy stuff. Who needs a wireless around here when we’ve got our own brand of entertainment?

[Warded to Jack]
Have you slept this week? I’m probably not the best one to be criticizing, but I think it comes with the territory of working in the same building.

Nevermind the fact that mum won’t leave me alone until I tell her you’ve slept at least 8 hours in the past three days.
